200-Acre Wildfire Encroaches On NJ Campground, Hiking Trails Closed

A 200-acre wildfire in Burlington County closed several hiking trails and encroached on campgrounds Monday evening, June 19.

The Acron Hill Wildfire at the Brendan T. Byrne State Forest was 60 percent contained as of 6 p.m., the New Jersey Forest Fire Service said.

Smoke was expected to hang low to the ground and reduce visibility during the overnight and early morning hours.
